YAMM Daily Limit: Why You’re Stuck at 400, Not 1,500
The Warmuply TeamLast checked: October 2026
You paid for YAMM Pro expecting to send to 1,500 people a day, and YAMM says you can send to 400. The YAMM daily limit depends on your Google account as much as your YAMM plan, and new Google Workspace accounts start lower.
This guide explains every YAMM quota, why a new Workspace account is held at 400, and what has to happen before you get 1,500. It also covers the other things that quietly eat into your quota, and why your quota isn't the number to plan your first bulk send around.
Figures come from YAMM's and Google's own help pages, checked October 2026.
What is the YAMM daily limit?
The YAMM daily limit is up to 1,500 recipients per 24 hours on YAMM Pro with a confirmed Google Workspace account. Every other combination is lower:
| YAMM plan | Google account | Recipients per 24 hours | With personalized attachments |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Personal @gmail.com or Workspace | Up to 20 | Up to 20 |
| Pro | Personal @gmail.com | Up to 400 | Up to 100 |
| Pro | Workspace in its free trial or warm-up period | Up to 400 | Up to 100 |
| Pro | Workspace, confirmed | Up to 1,500 | Up to 1,500 |
A few terms, in plain words:
- YAMM (Yet Another Mail Merge) is an add-on for Google Sheets and Gmail that sends a personalized copy of one email to each row of a spreadsheet.
- Google Workspace is Google's paid business version of Gmail, where your address is on your own domain (the part after the @), like
you@yourcompany.com. - Per 24 hours means a rolling 24 hours, not a reset at midnight. YAMM notes Google may reset it a little earlier or later than expected.
The quota counts recipients, not emails. One email with two people in Cc uses three.
Why is your YAMM quota stuck at 400?
YAMM Pro on a new Workspace account
If you're on YAMM Pro with a Workspace address and see 400, your Google Workspace account is almost certainly in its free trial or warm-up period. YAMM follows Google's limits, and Google holds new accounts back until they've built some payment history.
YAMM's help center describes three stages:
| Stage | YAMM Pro recipients per 24 hours | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Workspace free trial | 400 | 14 days |
| Warm-up period | 400 | Until Google raises your limits (see below) |
| Full capacity | 1,500 | Ongoing |
Google's side of this:
- During the free trial, a Workspace account can send 500 messages a day in total, and Google says that cap doesn't rise during the trial.
- After you switch to a paid plan, Google raises your sending limits once your domain has paid it at least $100 in total. If you bought your domain from Google, the domain's cost is added on top of that $100.
- Google says the increase can take up to 75 days after you reach that amount. YAMM describes its warm-up period ending once at least 60 days have passed since the $100 threshold.
So depending on your plan price and number of users, getting to 1,500 can take several months from the day you sign up. No YAMM setting shortens it; YAMM points you to Google Support with questions. Our guide to why a new Google Workspace account is limited covers the Google side in more detail.
When do you get 1,500 a day?
YAMM's pricing page lists four conditions for the 1,500 quota. Your Workspace account must:
- Be out of its free trial, with an active paid subscription.
- Not be a free legacy edition (an old free version of Google Apps, which YAMM says is limited to 100 recipients a day).
- Not have sent more than 500 emails in the last 24 hours, as YAMM words it.
- Not have been rate-limited by Google (temporarily slowed or blocked from sending).
If all four are true and you still see 400, contact YAMM's support. Their help center invites you to send a request if none of the usual reasons apply.
Other reasons your YAMM quota is lower than expected
Even on 1,500, the number you can actually use in one go is often lower. These all count against your YAMM quota or Google's limit:
- Cc and Bcc recipients. Every address counts, so two people in Cc triples your usage per row.
- Test emails. Each test you send to yourself uses a unit.
- Personalized attachments. On YAMM Free, Pro with @gmail.com, or a Workspace account in trial or warm-up, sending a different file to each person caps you at 100 a day.
- Alias sends. Sending from an alternate address on the same account counts toward that account's quota.
- Other tools. YAMM says your quota is shared with other add-ons and scripts. Google's own limit of 2,000 messages a day covers everything you send from that inbox, by hand or otherwise.
- The wrong account. If you're signed in to several Google accounts in one browser, YAMM may run as the wrong one. YAMM suggests signing out of all accounts, or using a separate browser profile for each account.

How do you check your YAMM quota?
Open your contact list spreadsheet in Google Sheets and go to Extensions > Yet Another Mail Merge: Mail Merge for Gmail > Check quota / upgrade quota.
The Quota screen shows which Google account YAMM is running as and your YAMM plan. According to YAMM's release notes, it also shows how many recipients you have left and when your quota resets. Check the account first: if it's not the address you meant to send from, that explains a lot of quota surprises.
What happens when you run out of quota mid-merge?
YAMM sends to as many rows as your quota allows, then stops. What happens next depends on your plan:
- YAMM Pro: YAMM offers to send the remaining rows automatically when your quota resets. Scheduling is a Pro feature.
- YAMM Free: you send what you can now, then run the mail merge again 24 hours later for the rest of the list.
Say you have 1,000 contacts and a 400-a-day quota. On Pro, YAMM can spread that over three days without you relaunching it each time. That's also a sensible pace for a new inbox.
Should you use your full YAMM quota on day one?
No. Your quota is the most YAMM will send, not what will reach the inbox. An inbox that has never sent in bulk and suddenly sends 400 emails looks unusual to Gmail and Outlook, even though it's within the rules.

- Safe volume for a new or quiet inbox
Illustration only. Every inbox is different.
YAMM says this itself. Its pricing page advises very recent accounts to start at no more than 100 emails a day, and its spam guide suggests a first small list of fewer than 50, then watching how people respond. Google's sender guidelines say to increase volume slowly and avoid sudden spikes, for example doubling what you sent before.
Gmail and Outlook decide where your email lands partly on sender reputation: a trust score for your domain and inbox, built from your sending history and how people respond to your emails. A new or quiet inbox hasn't earned much yet. Before your first bulk send, check three settings on your domain:
- SPF lists which servers may send email for your domain.
- DKIM adds a digital signature that proves the email wasn't changed on the way.
- DMARC tells receiving servers what to do if an email fails those checks.
All three live in your DNS (the settings that point your domain to the right services). Our free domain checker checks all three and explains any problem in plain English. For an estimated day-by-day ramp, try our free warmup schedule tool.
What warmup can fix, and what only you control
Warmup builds trust in your inbox. It can't make people want an email they didn't expect.
| Warmup helps with | Only you control |
|---|---|
| Building sending history for a new or quiet inbox | Who you email. People who don't expect your email are the biggest risk. Old, bought or scraped lists also bring bounces. |
| Sending a volume Gmail and Outlook will accept today | Spam complaints. Each "Report spam" click hurts your reputation fast. |
| SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up correctly | What the email says. Pushy subject lines, lots of links and attachments make complaints more likely. |
| Spotting problems early, through placement tests (which show whether a test email lands in the inbox, Promotions or spam) and blacklist alerts (a blacklist is a list of senders many mail servers block) | Opt-outs. YAMM can add an unsubscribe link. Use it, and stop emailing anyone who asks. |
Complaints matter more than most people expect. Google says to keep the spam rate shown in Postmaster Tools (Google's free dashboard for senders) below 0.10%, and never let it reach 0.30%. Single words rarely send an email to spam on their own, but wording that feels like an ad makes people click "Report spam". Our guide to spam trigger words covers what actually matters.
How Warmuply fits with YAMM
Warmuply runs alongside YAMM; nothing changes in how you send. It warms up your Google Workspace inbox in the background by exchanging everyday-looking emails with a network of inboxes, a little more each day. Each day it shows a safe-send number: how many emails your inbox can safely send today. Use that number as your YAMM send size, and let YAMM's scheduling handle the rest of the list.
See how it works in our guide to email warmup for YAMM users.
Before you hit send
Before you hit send
- Check your quota and account. Open YAMM's Quota screen and confirm the account, your plan and what's left today. Count any Cc and test emails.
- Check your list. Only include people who expect to hear from you. Remove old addresses and anyone who has asked not to be emailed, and add an unsubscribe link.
- Check your domain. Run SPF, DKIM and DMARC through our free domain checker.
- Check your safe volume. A 400 or 1,500 quota tells you what YAMM allows, not what your inbox has earned. Warmuply warms up your inbox in the background and shows a daily safe-send number to use in YAMM. Start a free 7-day trial.
Frequently asked questions
No. YAMM Pro raises your quota from 20 to 400 recipients a day, but a Workspace account in its free trial or warm-up period stays at 400 whatever YAMM plan you’re on. The jump to 1,500 depends on Google raising your account’s limits, which YAMM can’t speed up.
Not from one account in one day. YAMM suggests scheduling a large send so it continues each time your quota resets, about 1,500 a day. Its FAQ also mentions using more than one Google account, but a new account starts with no sending history, so it brings the same trust problem as a new inbox.
No. YAMM caps Pro on a personal @gmail.com account at 400 recipients per 24 hours, and at 100 when you send personalized attachments. The 1,500 quota is only for Google Workspace accounts on your own domain that have finished Google’s trial and warm-up period.
No. YAMM’s quotas are per user, so each person in your domain with a Pro seat gets their own allowance from their own inbox. Each inbox also builds its own sending history, so a teammate’s new address needs the same slow start as yours.
